Veteran newspaper, magazine and television journalist Charles Fleming, most recently automobile and motorcycle reporter for the Los Angeles Times, is author of the bestselling Hollywood exposé High Concept, the novels The Ivory Coast, After Havana, The Studio Kill and others, the urban hiking books Secret Stairs, Secret Stairs East Bay and Secret Walks, and co-author of the New York Times non-fiction bestsellers My Lobotomy and Three Weeks in October. Married and the father of two, he is a longtime resident of Silver Lake.
