The worst "cult" gets tossed around quite a bit, but what defines a cult? And how do cults use language to manipulate people? Like a lot of people, I've been fascinated by cults for a while, so I'm excited that I was able to talk to the wonderful Amanda Montell about her new book Cultish. In this episode, Amanda helps answer some of these questions, and we also ask if AA is a cult as well as whether or not Amanda has a cult following.
