Welcome friends to Back Issue Bloodbath, a comics-centric podcast presented by Geek Hard. Join hosts Andrew Young and Sammy Younan as they get down and dirty in the four-colour world of comic books, focusing on classic stories, new issues, comic creators and hot button topics.
Don’t you worry, never fear. Santa Claus will soon be here! That’s right folks, it’s our annual Christmas Special where we dive into the world of Christmas Comics and present another gem for festive consumption. And this might be the year where we in fact make Sammy’s heart grow three sizes. How we gonna do that? By reading the Post-Apocalyptic Christmas Adventure, The Last Christmas.
Written by Gerry Duggan and Brian Posehn with artwork from Rick Remender, The Last Christmas is the tale of a Santa who’s given up. The world has fallen into madness and Mrs. Claus is viciously murdered by a band of marauders. What’s a not-so-jolly fat man to do? Kill himself, that’s what! What Santa soon finds out is that he can’t actually die as long as someone believes in him and there’s one child that still does. This gives Santa a new mission: kill the kid and you can then kill yourself. What a happy Christmas tale! Join Andrew and Sammy as they look back on this overlooked Christmas Classic on the latest Back Issue Bloodbath.
Sadly, this is also the last episode featuring Sammy Younan on the show. At this time, we’d like to thank Sammy for all his contributions to Bloodbath and wish him well on all of his future endeavours. You’ll still be able to read his commentary weekly in Geek Hard’s #SetTheVCR column. Thanks again to Sammy for all the hard work he’s done to make this podcast extra special. But it’s time to start a new chapter.
