The presence of many who are significantly opposed to Christ is the definitive sign that "it is the last hour". 1 John 2:18 declares, "Children, it is the last hour," confirmed by the appearance of "many antichrists". An antichrist is anyone who rejects or is against Christ. The last hour is characterized by normalization: it may look like the regular "days of Noah," where people are busy with everyday life, oblivious to the coming end. This normalization of opposition—hearing lies presented as truth—makes it hard to live with vigilance. We are called to "strategic patience": to be awake, stand firm, and trust God. By keeping the end of the story in mind and remembering that the things of this world are passing away, we gain the strength needed to remain faithful throughout this long "last hour". Key Scripture: Children, it is the last hour; and just as you heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrist have appeared (1 John 2:18). Are you losing focus due to the weariness of the "last hour"? How does knowing the end of the story strengthen you for the journey right now?. Keep watch! Recalibrate your focus from the temporal to the eternal.
