A book reviewer coined author William D. Prystauk as a kink noir writer after reading his crime thriller, Punishment. The hard-boiled crime thriller is the sequel to his award-winning novel Bloodletting.

The only difference is that Prystauk leaves traditionalism and the tropes of those mysteries behind for alternative lifestyles, including LGBTQ and BDSM.

Each story follows a fledgling private investigator on his journey off the beaten path in New York’s Greenwich Village.
