(The Late Brother Burl Covington) There Is A Hell

Covington, The Rev. Burl F., age 81, passed away peacefully and joined the Lord July 1, 2014 at his home in Seymour, Tennessee. Burl was born in Sevier County on August 5, 1932. He was a Veteran of the US Army serving in the Korean War. Burl was a member and pastor at Ruggles Ferry Missionary Baptist Church. He faithfully served God for 52 years as pastor of many churches. Burl was preceded in death by his parents Bruce and Cordie Lee Covington; brother Lloyd Covington; and stepson Tony Satterfield. He is survived by wife Nancy; son Melvin and wife Myrna; daughter Charlotte and husband Larry; son Jimmy and wife Anne; son Chris and wife Kathy; daughter Regina and husband Jack; stepdaughter Dianna and husband Kevin; stepdaughter Donna; stepson Mike and wife Becky; sisters Lula Mae and Wanda. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Family will receive friends on Saturday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Sunday at Ruggles Ferry Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. Charles Whitson officiating. Family and friends will meet at Berry Funeral Home on Monday at 10:30 AM to go in procession to East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, John Sevier Highway, for an 11:30 AM interment service. Full military honors will be presented by Volunteer State Honor Guard. The service will conclude with a dove release. Arrangements by Berry Funeral Home, Chapman Highway.
