Tropical Cyclone Alfred is expected to make landfall Friday evening or early Saturday morning with the countdown well and truly on.

Daniel Hays from the Bureau of Meteorology told Peter Fegan on 4BC Breakfast, "The system is expected to make landfall either late tonight or probably more likely into Saturday morning at this stage."
