1. Jesus does not cancel the Law and the prophets, but fulfills the Law and the prophets with His promised life.

2. Jesus does not desire righteous actions from unchanged hearts, but righteous hearts resulting in changed actions.

Application:

Righteousness that is pleasing to Jesus is an inward righteousness that results in faithfulness in teaching and obeying the Word.

Righteousness that is pleasing to Jesus is an inward righteousness that results in fruitfulness of the heart, soul, mind, and strength.
