Oftentimes when a proposed plan is extremely desirable, something we really, really want and perhaps think we need, we don't do an analysis of the pros and cons. We don't consider the potential consequences of our proposed actions. We are impulsive and don't look before we leap. It's good to be spontaneous and strike when the iron is hot but at the same time it's good for us to do our due diligence and not let our emotions and/or wishful thinking get in the way of sound judgment.
