The relationship between leaders and employees has reached a critical turning point. According to PwC's Global Workforce Hopes and Fears Survey, only about half of workers trust their top leadership, and even fewer believe that senior management genuinely cares about their well-being. This trust gap, described as a "trust recession" by Edelman's 2025 Trust Barometer, marks the first global decline in employer trust in the survey's twenty-six-year history.
