Publisher's Summary:
This book intertwines two love stories and a mystery that, once solved, has the potential to alter the lives of everyone involved.
What if everything you've ever been told is a lie?
When Joshua was just a young boy in the 60s, he was told his mother took her own life and left him to be raised by an emotionally absent man and a woman who had slipped into insanity because of the death of her own child. Those circumstances affected every aspect of Joshua's life but it wasn't until he met Isabelle, the red-haired bookstore owner on Bell Island, that he realized just how emotionally stifled he was. He loved her, but his tragic past kept him from fully committing. And Isabelle was tired of waiting.
Then lavender scented letters began arriving in Joshua's mailbox. The letters were signed "Mama," and they filled in the missing pieces of his early life with his mother, including why her own turbulent love story caused her to walk into the ocean one day in her best suit. They also contained God-inspired wisdom that had the potential to set Joshua on another path.
But Joshua must determine whether the letters are truly from his mother, who he believes has been dead for 20 years, or if there is an even deeper mystery that will finally explain the heartbreaking events of so long ago.

Forgiving is wise
The Leap of Forgiveness
By April Geremiah
I just finished reading this book. This was such a wonderful story. There was so much to learn from, and one that keeps you suspense all through the book. The story of Joshua and Isabelle was super different and ended well. Wondered through reading it how it could be, what an ending. I highly recommend reading this marvelous story. You will not be sorry, I promise. It is one you will remember this story for a long long time. A great message over all. Thank you April Geremiah for sharing your gift of writing with us.
Highly Recommend!
This is powerful story about forgiveness told masterfully with deep emotion. One can sense that the author is writing from personal experience.
Like her first book, April's book has a "mystery" to be unraveled that captured my attention to the point that I didn't want to stop reading until the story lines were resolved. You won't be disappointed!

Overcoming the worst of circumstances
Joshua McKeon is a young fisherman with a seeming inability to make relationships last. But Isabelle, the owner of a bookshop on Bell Island, may change all that. They fall in love, spend time together, enjoy being with each other, until Joshua begins an almost inevitable pulling away.
The reason lies in the past. Joshuaâs mother Grace supposedly committed suicide when he was almost six, and he was raised by Edgar and Edith Malley, for whom his mother worked as a cook. But it was a loveless family, and Joshua never forgot his mother.
And then Joshua begins to receive letters. The letters are from his mother. And gradually he learns what really happened.
âThe Leap of Forgivenessâ is the second book in April Geremiaâs âSouls of the Seaâ series, and itâs a fascinating story, in the inspirational Christian romantic mystery genre (I didnât know genres could get that specific).
