Congressman John Lewis, a civil rights leader who worked alongside Martin Luther King Jr., was put to rest and honored at his funeral in Atlanta this past Thursday. He passed away on July 17th at 80 years old. To shed a light on his work for racial equality and equity, KCSB’s Aubrey Valerio spoke to Paul Spickard, a professor of history at UC Santa Barbara, about the late civil rights leader’s work and legacy moving forward.
