The Legacy We Leave (Acts 20:17-38)

Listen Later

We continue in our series For His Glory by focusing on a conversation that Paul has with some of the most important people in his life: the elders of the church at Ephesus.  Paul spends three years with these men launching a church and discipling the people of Ephesus.  Later on in his journey, in Acts 20:17-38, Paul summons the Ephesian elders to a city called Miletus knowing that he will likely never see them again.  Before he leaves for Jerusalem and an uncertain fate, Paul takes the time to summarize the life he has lived among them.   In no way does Paul give the speech we find in Acts 20 as a means of making much of himself.  Instead, he paints a compelling picture of a Godly legacy for those elders as well as for us.  My prayer is that our discussion of Paul's example will motivate us to diligently use the time we are given to glorify God and make much of Jesus Christ.
