My guest this week has great things to tell us about masculinity. His name is Brian and he’s a Youth Pastor at Woodstock Student’s Middle School. Brian and I discussed a lot about the struggles men and boys face today. They are struggles with self, and struggles against culture. How do we act when we encounter new circumstances? Will we flee from sinful pursuits and take up those that honor God, or will we be safe, predictable, passive, pleasure seekers placated by what the world says you should be filled by. 1 Timothy 4:8 says, “for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come.” So yeah it’s good for us to workout, but our faith should come first. This episode is all about fitness with the priority of God first. Stephen discusses with Seth the health benefits of working out, as well as a workout he thinks women find attractive. Having guys around you that can help out in times of need can make a big difference in your life. We talk about how Christians build these types of meaningful relationships.

His name is Coty, and his ministries are with Fellowship of Christian Athletes for Northern WI as The Well church Tomahawk WI serving as the youth director. In his ministry, Coty is able to make meaningful friendships with the guys he’s around. We talk about how important it is to have a group of guys that you care about AND care about you and your well being.. Next we have some Bible time. As we read our Bible there are characters and moments where we say “oh yeah that’s totally me” or “been there before.” Coty and I discuss a story from the Bible that reminds him of his own experience. Like most great love stories, this one starts with a man that has no clue. Seth wanted to find the love of his life but he didn't know how. The longer it took the harder it was to not be frustrated towards God. It wasn't until he put his full trust in God's will for his future that Seth started to make progress. Eventually Seth met an amazing woman. This episode is for you guys who are in the same boat that I was. Hang in there my dudes! Trust God, pray, and read your Bible. That isn't the magic combination for finding a girlfriend but it is a good combination for putting your life in the proper order.
