S2 EP 3
The Legions
“He lived among the tombs… cutting himself with stones.
Bound, isolated, naked, crying out day and night.”
Have you ever asked yourself why the enemy always wants us hurting our own bodies? Have you ever wondered if what you’re fighting is older than you… stronger than habits… deeper than willpower?
In this week’s episode of STP, we slow down and go straight to the Word, Mark 5, to tell a story that is essential to our understanding of stopping the pull. For the first time, I read this passage aloud to you, because this is not just a reference point… it is a mirror. The man in the tombs was not simply struggling -he was under spiritual torment. And the same spirit he wrestled with then is the same one we contend with now.
This episode is not about shame. It’s about revelation. If you cannot see the spiritual origin of self-harm, you will always try to fight it with natural tools. Trichotillomania is not just behavior - it is warfare against the flesh, the mind, and the soul. And just like in Mark 5, no chain, no system, no human effort could free that man… until he encountered Jesus.
Season 2 reminds us that healing does not come from striving -it comes from surrender. The same Lord who restored that man to his right mind is the same Lord we serve today. The same power that cast out the darkness then is the same power available to us now. Our job is not to fix ourselves -it is to lean on God and trust that He is still in the business of restoration. This episode is an invitation: to listen, to believe, and to remember that freedom is not a theory -it is a promise.
