How do you describe being born and raised in a religion so secretive that it has no official name, no church buildings, and no public figurehead?
The Truth (as members call it) is stranger than fiction. And I tell it with spicy humour. And a naughty story or two.
Using https://www.tellingthetruth.info/home/factsheet.php as a factual reference point, I cover the basics of the 2x2 religious community while sharing candid details of my own childhood and the experiences that shaped my first 25 years, until I officially left.
While my story is not one of abuse, leaving a community that has been part of your entire existence comes with its own struggles. I share some of the challenges I still experience and how I navigate and enjoy my life beyond “the Way.”
This episode is the length of a movie, and there will be a sequel or two.

I meet someone, female or male. There’s a vibe, a spark. One of my Faye-vourite things is discovering, over time, the reasons for the connection.
One of my least Faye-vourite things is when someone immediately assumes a friendship just because there’s been an interaction.
In this episode, I explore the question, “Do we have to be friends?” through my own experiences navigating social situations, church (former), professional environments, and online (childfree) communities.
I get curious about intellectual and emotional intimacy in friendships, and realizing which connections aren’t there.

Who are you allowed to be—at home?
In this episode, I explore the idea of home from my own perspective as a childfree woman with a year-round Xmas tree who forgets that some people have pets.
Also, the debut of Faye-Vourite Feedback! Featuring two listeners whose thoughts and questions made me think more about empathy. And creating a Non-Faye-Vourite Feedback category.
During the episode, I realize how much home is a feeling rather than a location. And as life circumstances change, that feeling comes with me.
So, wherever and however you live, I’ll leave you with this:
What do you need to be yourself—at home?

Happy International Childfree Day!
I was a little girl who didn’t want to be a mother but thought she had no choice. And then, at twenty-two, it hit me. I did not have to have children.Â
What was calling me instead?
Teaching, aunthood, advocacy and beyond.Â
Decades later, the unfolding continues. What showed up was a life I actually chose. Â
Your choice is made. Now — what does it look like to live like you mean it?Â

Have you ever been asked “What are you?” and felt like the answer you gave still didn’t capture who you actually are?
I have. More times than I can count. At school, at work, at parties, even in line to use the bathroom at a funeral.
This episode is my answer — one I never quite get to give in the moment. It’s about growing up caught between two worlds, being too much of one thing and not enough of another, and finally deciding that I get to define myself.
And if you’ve ever asked “What are you?” — this is for you too. Not to make you feel bad. But because the question is messier and more relentless than most people realize.
Let’s keep this conversation going after the episode. If this resonated with you — whether you’ve been asked “What are you?” or you’ve been the one asking — I want to hear from you.

52% of you on my Instagram say the struggle to set boundaries with family is real.
I didn’t speak to my dad for five years after my mother died. And now, our relationship is nice. Zero regrets. And that is because I set a boundary.
My intention in sharing these details is to create space for you to consider what you need to navigate the challenges of your family, whatever the term family means to you.
And if anyone still gives you grief, let me know. We’ll have a good Canadian sit-down.

The day my mother died. 20 years later, I reflect on that moment; the chaos, the humour, the need to chainsmoke. Perhaps the most human experience of all human experiences - death.
This episode remains unedited. The emotions are present, but this story isn’t tragic.
I dedicate this episode to anyone who is grieving, afraid to grieve, or like my late mother, utterly fascinated by final moments.
Please share this episode with anyone you know who may be feeling alone in grief.
Let’s keep the conversation going!

In the aftermath of the recent US election, I’ve been receiving many requests for tips on how to move to Canada.
My question is, why would you want to?
After a week of conversations with would-be expats, fellow Canadians, and overall unsatisfied humans, I’ve released a new podcast episode that doesn't sugarcoat life in Canada.
While I answer listener questions about feel-good stories, living independently, and my NSFW Thanksgiving tale, this episode contains some Canadian realities to consider.
At present, the majority of listeners to this podcast are American. So while this episode is focused on the US, the themes are universal.
We want to feel good, secure, and confident as we live and pursue our ideal life.
