We hear a lot of stories of Christian celebrities deconstructing their faith. There is also a recent article by Sean McDowell, mentioned in last week's podcast about GEN Z being the most skeptical of all the generations of present day. What is anti-intellectualism? How far back does it go? What can we do to turn the tide around.
This episode is the first of a series on anti-intellectualism. In this episode, I present five theses on anti-intellectualism. In this episode I point out that it is not about aptitude as much as it is attitude against the life of the mind. It is a problem in the Western church and it is a sin in the eyes of God, in not following Jesus' Great Commandment to love the Lord your God with all your heart, and all your soul and all your mind." Until we do that we cannot honor God in loving our neighbor as ourselves. Anti-intellectualism is not a spiritual gift and we do not get brownie points for heaven for being absent intellectually.
