insight into her writings
What did you like best about this story?
Since reading most of the Brontes' writings I realized thru the letters how she instigated and assisted the publications of her sisters' work.
Which scene was your favorite?
The letters each represent Charlottes character, as a woman writer in the mid 19th century
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
No, since I have read Lyndall Gordons biography

Anyone who is interested in this woman writer and her attempts at being published in the mid 1800's would like reading these letters.
Beautifully read
These letters are beautifully read by the narrator, and as you would expect from Charlotte Bronte, the letters exquisite. However it is the recording that lets this down. At one point words are edited out - I say words, it could be a sentence or a whole passage. At another part there is a clicking that makes it hard to concentrate on the words.
This is a pity as it is beautiful otherwise.
