History: From One Student To Another

The LGBTQ+ Community in Drama

Listen Later

Greetings Podcast listeners! In today’s episode, let’s take a look at The LGBTQ+ Community in Drama.

Firstly, I'll be looking at an Irish Poet and Playwright, Oscar Wilde, who was arrested for homosexuality.

Secondly, I'll talk about the 1993 play ‘Beautiful Thing’, written by Jonathan Harvey, and its 1996 screen adaptation.

I believe that LBGTQ+ education should be compulsory in all education systems and available to all.

That is my aim with this series of my podcast— to give as much of an LGBTQ+ inclusive education as I can, as a student myself, and not just in relation to the history of the community.
