Our Constitution did not authorize permanent foreign entanglements, something our Founding Fathers explicitly warned us against. Indeed, in both Lander (who warned banks that if they did not apply the recently-created “gun shop purchase code” to buys from gun stores in NY, he would withdraw the NYC public employee retirement system’s investment in those banks) and the incumbent, we see very mixed messages. Lander is in favor of peace in Gaza, even as he attacks gun rights in the US, while the incumbent, Congressman Dan Goldman is a hardcore Zionist, but he just introduced legislation to force ICE to abide by the bill of rights when kidnapping people and he appeared at an ICE court to change the dynamic for some people being held prisoner prior to their potential deportation. As a sworn member of Congress, Goldman is supposed to recognize that there is ZERO federal power over immigration, thus seeing a call to END ICE, but this is a start. It’s a “pick your poison” situation, but the true lesson here is that a voter is not just “picking poison” to be given to HIM or HER, the voter… he or she is voting to force poison into another person’s life and make him or her pay for it. IMMIGRATION POLICE STATE- The Kilmar Abrego Garcia case is revealing even more of the devious tactics of the Trump DOJ. Since they, first, kidnapped him contrary to any provision of their vaunted US Constitution, then did not give him Due Process when they shipped him to El Salvador (he and 99 others, at least), and then they returned him, but cobbled a case of “trafficking” against him (when they didn’t charge him with that months earlier) and used testimony that appears to have been sourced from people the feds enticed with “special favors” to claim they worked with Garcia to traffick, and NOW, the US is trying to deport him to avoid actual trial action (which would reveal the Dept of Injustice perfidy, via discovery, or see the case dropped), now, it’s getting wild. -Here is another legal “immigration” bubble that indicates perfidy on the part of the Trump Admin. From the article re that initial deportation run to El Salvador, contrary to a judge’s order, the DOJ is not releasing required information on the legal advice they were using at the time. “Department of Justice officials, citing privilege, did not disclose details on the legal advice given to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem about the decision to continue the deportation of more than 100 Venezuelans to El Salvador in March. The declarations filed in court Friday are a response to a contempt inquiry initiated by U.S. District Court Judge James Boasberg, who is determining whether Noem or anyone else should be referred for potential contempt prosecution… …Boasberg’s earlier finding that the Trump administration likely acted in contempt was halted for months after an appeals court issued an emergency stay. -Unless one lives near Portland, this story might not have gotten a lot of attention. It’s from October, when federal ICE agents pulled weapons on a government employee who was trying to drive into a kidnappee facility near the city. After another ICE agent pointed out “he works here” the ICE goons turned their attention back to the crowd, pepper-gassing them and throwing flash bangs at them. How nice. LINK
