-David Stockman offers a pithy insight about the Trumpers and Congress - They are snake-like, slithering past most popular desires to TRULY lower spending. But Mr. Stockman’s observation also could be expanded to note two more dimensions, which are that the list of these agencies is a list of anti-constitutional carbuncles on the body of the so-called “confederation/union” and that, on a more fundamental level, the entirety of the state is immoral, and no group of men can claim power over other people, regardless of the pieces of paper they write to claim that power is theirs.
The percentages in the New York Times chart, as referenced in David Stockman’s post, represent actual year-over-year changes in funding levels compared to the FY2025 enacted budget—not adjustments relative to a projected baseline that assumes automatic increases for inflation or other factors.For the EPA specifically:
The FY2025 enacted budget was approximately $9.14 billion.
The Trump administration (White House) proposed roughly $4.16 billion for FY2026, a genuine 54% reduction in total dollars from the prior year.
Congress ultimately enacted about $8.8 billion for FY2026, a real 4% (or approximately 3.7%) aggregate reduction in dollars spent compared to FY2025—not an increase that fell short of some planned baseline projection.
Similar logic applies to HUD:
The FY2025 enacted budget was around $77-89 billion (depending on whether gross or adjusted figures are used, as the chart excludes certain items like disaster funding and receipts).
The White House proposed about $43.5 billion for FY2026, a true 44% cut.
Congress enacted approximately $91 billion (gross) or $77.3 billion (program-specific), resulting in a 9% increase over FY2025 levels.
Rand Paul is trying to remove the federal block against tort suits that has prevented them from entering federal courts, state to state. Headline: ‘Sen. Rand Paul unveils bill to end nationwide liability protections for vaccine manufacturers’ LINK
CLIMATE CULTCA and UK - a “Memorandum of Understanding” that expands fascist green fraud from govt, and might pit CA windfarm plans against Trump on a state-v-feds level. Headline ‘Trump slams energy deal between California and Britain, Politico reports’ LINK The MoU focuses on advancing what they call “clean energy cooperation,” with a particular emphasis on offshore wind and other inefficient and government-pushed technologies. It was signed in London by California Governor Gavin Newsom and UK Energy Secretary Ed Miliband (widely disliked in Scotland for his push to destroy forests and turn away from North Sea oil drilling) during Newsom’s European trip, which included the Munich Security Conference. The non-binding pact will use fascist, rather than market means, to connect businesses, researchers, and institutions across the Atlantic.
