WARIRAN

As I noted on X, this is Trump lying, again. In other words: This is Trump. But it IS good news… If one compares Trump’s statements over the weekend with what he now claims re “negotiations”, one sees a problem with his timeline. If, as he now says, the Trumpers have been in “good negotiations” with the US over the past two days, then why did he issue an ultimatum yesterday, only to back down from it, this morning Either is lying now, and they have not been negotiating, or he yesterday issued his threat WHILE, as he says, there were “good talks” going on…
The Iranians repeatedly have said they are no longer interested in negotiating. They just issued a release saying that they are not involved in any talks. AND Trump is facing logistic and tactical hurdles that would make it impossible to hold Kharg Island, would see Iran respond to his escalation by destroying so much infrastructure in the Middle East in nations aiding the US that the entire area would become uninhabitable due to lack of water, and he will not admit that NATO nations are reluctant to help. His Marines won’t arrive close to the island and be ready to try to hit is until Friday, so he is faking it. He has to step back, or he will be widening the disaster. Here is more, from Iran. Here is Al Jazeera on it:

MORE, as a sample of keen observers on X

MORE, from the RT X:

I had the opportunity to record this, from the Sanchez Effect, on RT, this morning, as it streamed, live. We open with Trump claiming, again, that his gang of goons is negotiating (and has been since at least Saturday, which doesn’t comport with his threat, issued Sunday), and claiming that a US attack on Iranian infrastructure would be very costly for Iran. SO, EITHER WAY, he either is lying about negotiations or he is not, but STILL threatened massive civilian loss in Iran, stock-oil-stock chaos, and a wider escalation across the Middle East.

-The Trump Admin claims that they were speaking to the head of the Iranian Parliament. He denies this claim.

-Prof Mirandi denies that there are any “talks” going on.

More - observing the danger the other Persian Gulf nations felt due to Trump’s Sunday threat, and the possibility that Iran would respond to Trump by hitting Qatar’s, the UAE’s, Bahrain’s, and, possibly, Saudi desalinization plants and other infrastructure.

-Again, CT Senator Chris Murphy nails it

-As does this woman, from Chatham House

-Of course, Lindsay Graham likens the US attacking Kharg Island to Iwo Jima, where 25,000 US and Japanese died. Utterly contemptable, aggressive. Sick.

-The first of the responses we’d like to offer here…

-Will Maria B get tired of Trump lying to her? (Again, at least Trump is backing off for a few days)…

And it’s possible that Trump is using his rhetoric not only to give himself an out and not deploy the troops in a suicide mission, but also to give Israel cover to conduct more strikes, on civilian infrastructure, which they are starting right now.

@realDonaldTrump .\n\nTrump is losing control of Netanyahu—and the U.S.–Israel alliance is starting to fracture in real time.\n\nEND. \nTHIS.\nWAR.\nNOW. ","username":"WeTheBrandon","name":"Brandon Weichert","profile_image_url":"https://pbs.substack.com/profile_images/1506471623582535684/IpQ4Lznq_normal.jpg","date":"2026-03-23T13:13:02.000Z","photos":[{"img_url":"https://pbs.substack.com/media/HEGRr-tX0AAWxij.jpg","link_url":"https://t.co/Nv5y6Ja89x"}],"quoted_tweet":{},"reply_count":397,"retweet_count":1644,"like_count":4153,"impression_count":82054,"expanded_url":null,"video_url":null,"belowTheFold":true}" data-component-name="Twitter2ToDOM">

It also is possible that Trump knows that his words can make cronies very wealthy if they have insider knowledge tied to the US government, as we mentioned, above. Here is the chart...

Here are Daniel McAdams and Ron Paul discussing the bizarre, circus-performance flip of Trump, and, if you continue to watch from the point I’ve linked, you will see Daniel and Ron discuss the strange stock option move. LINK
Either way, Trump and co utterly dismiss the value of human life.
-The fuel crisis is the worst that the IEA head has seen.

-And yet, Bessent claims that - despite him trying to COLLAPSE the Iranian economy last month, now, it’s good to lift sanctions on Iranian fuel for 30 days, allowing sales without US aggressive threats against them, and that, in reality, this will contribute to the snow-white attempt to change the gub-ment of Iran. See? Totally consistent. Totally moral (wink)

-This conversation between Daniel Davis and Prof Seyed Mohammad Mirandi is essential. We enter on a moment when Prof Mirandi - who is in Iran, has been targeted by Israeli-tied forces to be kidnapped, possibly killed, and has separated from his family to keep them safe - notes that if Israel and the US engage in massive attacks on Iran, Iran will retaliate all over the Middle East, hitting nations that host US bases, of course, and this is a form of Mutually Assured Destruction. Then, watch as they dig into the insanity and evil of US Ambassador to the UN, Waltz

-And, if the Trumpers feel the negotiations are going so well, or, even if they feel they can easily destroy Iran, why does “Mr. Control Spending - NOT” Trump need another $200 Bil?

-This poliwag claims the spending to kill people overseas is “every penny, America First” — of course, he is highly funded by… AIPAC.

-And let’s keep in mind that, while Trump was in his “heightened threatener” phase, Mr. Waltz was at the UN, and he would NOT rule out that the US would strike Iranian nuclear power plants, likely causing terrible civilian casualties and radioactive fallout/steam to infect vast regions. Headline: “US envoy refuses to rule out strikes on Iranian nuclear power plant — RT World News” LINK
-And for those who think they can rope you in and force you to pay for their slaughter of foreigners around the globe… Here are regular folks in Iran, sounding alarm

THE STRAIT OF HORMUZ - MORE LIES FROM TRUMP ADMIN

First, let’s see how impossible it would be for two marine exp units to take and hold Kharg Island, or anything else in the Strait of Hormuz. This conversation, from CrossTalk, on RT, offers key insight on the logistics, and let’s remember all the small air drones, water vehicles, and rockets that Iran not only has, but can keep producing in their centers under ground.

-This, from Sunday, on Dialogue Works w Nima, is key info, via Stanislaw Krapivnik

-See how Energy Sec (how is that, in any way, in alignment with the US Constitution?) Chris Wright dodges about “negotiations” w Iran, then lays more lies as cover, depicting the region as unsafe prior to the US attacking Iran, when, in fact, if the US and Israel had not engaged in their years of aggression in the Middle East, they had utterly free passage for ships.

The US “PetroDollar” - v alternatives - As the US productivity dives and US govt debt grows, the US currency weakens. The question for the last two decades has been whether alternatives also are losing value (perhaps more rapidly) - such was and still is the case for the Euro and other state European currencies, but it is not for the nations tied to BRICS. Here is Jeffrey Sachs on that

-Is this a rhetorical set-up for Trump to be able to back down?

-And Trump claims that his magic “negotiations” are going to see the US and IRAN run the Strait of Hormuz? How about the Strait of Hormel, the beef company?

IRAQ

Meanwhile, as the Iranians blast US bases in numerous Middle Eastern nations, Iraqis are seizing the opportunity, and driving the US forces out of many regions.

TARIFF TERRORISM

As I noted in my non-fict book, “Live Free or Die”, tariffs not only raise the costs for civilian consumers to get and make what they want, and they not only syphon to government any saved capital that the consumer might have used to spend on a new venture or product, tariffs also drive up costs for the US military, even as pro-tariff folks claim that the US has to have tariffs up to insure that the US retains “essential industries”. Those “essential industries” also rely on tariffs, and if the US relies on domestic providers of things like steel, increasing costs for the US government, the US will have fewer ships, tanks, etc, with which to fight. Here is a segment from “60 Minutes” I got to record that digs into the matter.

Here is a link to more, from CBS’ “60 Minutes” (see their right-side video player) LINK
AND… Here is more detail. Scott Lincicome’s post estimates that U.S. tariffs on steel, aluminum, and copper add $1.8 billion annually to Department of Defense metals spending—19% above world-market prices—based on FY2025-26 procurement data and price differentials from sources like CSIS and Fastmarkets.

  • The chart breaks down costs across $9.4 billion in total metals outlays, with aluminum facing the highest premium at 62% ($0.91 billion), followed by copper (13%, $0.52 billion) and steel (2%, $0.49 billion), driven by DFARS rules mandating domestic sourcing.

Yes, they applaud the unconstitutional ICE taking the place of the temporarily unpaid, also unconstitutional, TSA.
