And the US Navy two nights ago âseizedâ an Iranian-flagged cargo ship M/V Touska (sometimes reported with slight spelling variations) in the Gulf of Oman / Arabian Sea near the Strait of Hormuz. This is an act of war. The guided-missile destroyer USS Spruance fired on its engine room, disabled it, and US Marines (from the 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit / USS Tripoli) rappelled from helicopters to board and steal it. Trump appeared on CNBC this morning and continued to rattle his economy-killing sword at Iran. The host, of course, not only did not challenge Trump on any of his lies, he contributed to the fakery, making bold claims about the Iranian population and their mythological thirst to change governments and become vassals of the US and Israel. Here is the full interview.
Here is one of the key segments, wherein Trump reiterates that he is ready to resume kinetic attacks inside Iran unless Iran capitulates to his demands, demands that still force Iran to drop all nuclear refining for energy, and force Iran to relinquish control over the Strait of Hormuz. Since the Strait technically is Iranian and Omani water, the attempt of the US or any other nation or set of nations to militarily threaten Iran-Oman to give up control of the strait is an act that runs counter to the long-running international paradigm of 12-mile water control off a coast of a nation for that nation, without dispute.
