We had a great night tonight, and want to extend the welcome to you, in the audio realm!
In addition to Fiction Friday — two stories and the next installment of my novella, “Tower” — we covered some key breaking stories, and tried to wring key lessons out of them!
Charlie Kirk Assassination:
The feds claim to have their suspect in custody. LINK He is identified as Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old male resident of Utah, whose father turned him in after, say police, Robinson confessed to him his commission of the crime. LINK
Late yesterday afternoon, the FBI released video they claim shows the suspect, carrying a bag, climbing off a building. The feds also claim that the shooter disassembled portions of the rifle before getting off the roof, then REASSEMBLED the rifle in the woods and left the gun there, which makes no sense. Here is the video. LINK
Because, of course, the game-players in the GOP now have embraced the idea that “words are violence”, Rep Clay Higgins (R-LA) is proposing a bill that would burn what is left of the Bill of Rights. How can these people be either so unashamed or so ignorant that they don’t stop themselves from pushing such utter nonsense and tyranny?
Here is the quote from his X Post, written in a Trump-like style:
“I’m going to use Congressional authority and every influence with big tech platforms to mandate immediate ban for life of every post or commenter that belittled the assassination of Charlie Kirk. If they ran their mouth with their smartass hatred celebrating the heinous murder of that beautiful young man who dedicated his whole life to delivering respectful conservative truth into the hearts of liberal enclave universities, armed only with a Bible and a microphone and a Constitution… those profiles must come down. So, I’m going to lean forward in this fight, demanding that big tech have zero tolerance for violent political hate content, the user to be banned from ALL PLATFORMS FOREVER. I’m also going after their business licenses and permitting, their businesses will be blacklisted aggressively, they should be kicked from every school, and their drivers licenses should be revoked. I’m basically going to cancel with extreme prejudice these evil, sick animals who celebrated Charlie Kirk’s assassination. I’m starting that today. That is all.”

The House passed its version of the National Defense Authorization Act, removing the “Authorization for Use of Military Force” as it applies to Iraq. Since there is no provision in their magical US Constitution other than WAR to “let” the US attack another nation-state, perhaps people might want to discuss this problem in DC? LINK
VENEZUELA:
The AP reports that the boat Trump attacked, killing eleven men sans trial, sans Declaration of War, with the blood splattered on us, we who are forced to pay for it? The AP reports it was turned back to Venezuela. That merely adds to the already established illegality and immorality of Trump’s mass-murder. LINK

ISRAEL:
The UN just voted to end the war in Gaza and recognize Palestine. The US, of course, voted NO. LINK

Peace protesters rallied outside the Expo Center on the east side of London today, protesting a big military-arms contractor expo that hosted numerous UK businesses that make weapons for Israel. LINK

In Houston, ICE kidnapped over 800 people last week. They are offering details on hardly any of the people, not even their identities. LINK
The 300 Hyundai workers arrested in GA last week have returned to S. Korea, and Reason has more. Here is a quote from the story:
