We had a blast tonight, digging into the news and finding nuggets of info to take away as lessons for liberty! Here are some of the big matters we covered:
FREEDOM OF SPEECH, POST KIRK MURDER
This is a valuable piece from Reason, covering the immediate and recent history of GOP flip-flopping on free speech, now the MAGA target in the wake of the Kirk murder and the battle over peace in Gaza and immigration. They don’t go into the history of the FCC and its unconstitutional origin as the FRC, but, for the recent-window picture they provide, it’s a valuable bit of reading. LINK
Likewise, this, from FIRE, is a valuable piece. LINK
This photo, as touching as some might see it, is significant in what it tells us about the vast reach of politics over civilian life under the US government. The sheer size and scope of the memorial for Charlie Kirk is a testament not only to how much he was liked by many people, but testament to the major reason so many people knew him and his work. He worked in a political-commentary sphere, a sphere that has expanded so widely, it touches virtually every part of every person’s life in the US. If he had lived in a world of smaller government, perhaps he would have been doing different work, and perhaps fewer people would have been so focused on trying to influence the course of action in the government. It’s a stark indication of how big the US government is, and how many people focus on government power as some kind of imprimatur of legitimacy. LINK
Trump’s recent statements on freedom of the press are un-American and not reassuring. His attacks on campus speech and threats against broadcasters evince a dangerous, fascistic thuggery in his heart. But Marco Rubio is trying to look like he’s all for free speech. LINK and LINK

And Karoline Leavitt held a presser today, during which she, in direct succession and clear intent to manipulate, claimed to be delighted to have seen how Charlie Kirk brought his free-speech attitude and interest in debate to college campuses (not mentioning the Trump Admin’s crackdown on university speech, on the free speech of visiting foreigners, and its surveillance of social media posts by foreigners who want to study in the US, not mentioning FCC Chair Carr’s threat of license-pulling for broadcasters that show Jimmy Kimmel or other things Carr dislikes) and then took an evidently pre-known question from a TurningPoint reporter who asked about Antifa and the Trump Admin “doing something” about the group. Leavitt then went on a minutes-long monologue about the wicked violence and SPEECH suppression of certain members of the Marxist group, and she proceeded to say that Trump today likely will announce by “Executive Order” that Antifa is a “domestic terror” group. As we discussed last week on Liberty Conspiracy Live, there is no statute allowing the US to claim any domestic “group” is a “domestic terror” org. The term doesn’t exist in Title 18 of the USC. Moreover, even if that were in the code, the code runs contrary to due process under the Bill of Rights, and, specifically, sees targeting without trial, punishment without trial, and, of course, the Executive Branch simply cannot “declare” anything. Leavitt also noted that the new owners (ORACLE, run by Larry Ellison, who is massively pro-Zionist, and whose son runs Skydance, which now runs CBS and which just put pro-Zionist Bari Weiss in charge of CBS News) of TikTok will change the algorithm to change the popularity-visibility of posts favorable to groups like Antifa.
AND… the FDA is going to crack down on “pharma ads” on TV and online. The “regs” already exist, but have not been policed very much. And, of course, those “regs” are patently contrary to the 1st Amendment. LINK

I would like to reiterate two stories from yesterday’s Sunday News Assembly. They both are in this link about a man dying in ICE custody, making him the second in a week to be killed by the ICE goon activity. Inside the story, you will see the information about the Illinois reporter and Congressional candidate thrown to the ground the other day as she rallied against ICE invading Chicago. LINK and LINK

Israel is blowing apart buildings in Gaza City, using C4 and giant containers of ammonium nitrate. LINK
Israeli planes just bombed the headquarters of the Palestinian Relief Society in western Gaza City. LINK
This American nurse is trapped in a hospital in Gaza City, as Apache Helicopters attack, outside. Those would be US-supplied, Boeing-made, Apaches (more of which will be fed to Israel in Trump’s planned $6.8 bil package). LINK
An Israeli drone strike in southern Lebanon killed an American father and his three children, and wounded the mother. The US disputes the claim that they were US citizens. LINK That must mean it’s okay to slaughter a family, right?
As the dock workers last week warned they would do, numerous towns and cities in Italy are facing massive strikes today, as citizens call for an end to all Italian arms sales to Israel. LINK and LINK and LINK
Over the weekend, Britain, Australia and Canada and Portugal officially recognized a Palestinian state, sparking strong condemnation from Israel. It is too little, too late. If the governments listed were serious about their positions, they would STOP recognizing Israel, since most of the land its government claims for that artificial Zionist entity is on stolen Palestinian land. The statements come very late, as well, since the IDF has destroyed 80% of Gaza and wiped out what might be a million people. Britain currently has 167 running arms contracts with the IDF. Natali also nailed it on the new cache of US arms Trump wants to send to the genocide state: “President Trump scraped together another $6 billion for Israel, in addition to the $40 billion in military assistance that the U.S. already gives Israel.
The new arms package includes 30 AH-64 Apache attack helicopters and more than 3,200 infantry assault vehicles. The weapons will be financed through U.S. foreign military aid. Deliveries are expected to begin in two to three years, making this one of the largest transfers of American military hardware to Israel in recent memory.
The announcement comes as the war in Gaza enters its second year, with civilian casualties mounting and Washington already having sent Israel nearly $18 billion in aid since October 7.
Critics warn that the deal deepens U.S. complicity in the bloodshed, while the White House insists it reflects America’s “ironclad” support for Tel Aviv. Complicit is the better word.”

The US just “sanctioned” the wife of a judge in Brazil. This is utterly unconstitutional. LINK
INDIA
Bouncing off that Israeli info, here is more on Lutnick. Recall that Lutnick recently has been on the economic warpath against India, making utterly unsupportable claims that India is the worst, biggest imposer of tariffs in the world. We showed on Liberty Conspiracy that this is false.
Lutnick recently again claimed that India has the highest tariffs in the world; he claimed that India doesn’t take any US corn, and more…
He is lying, again. The Government of India imposes an average tariff of approximately 7.5% on imports from the United States, according to statements from Indian trade ministry officials in 2025. This figure aligns closely with World Trade Organization (WTO) data indicating a 6.2% average tariff on US imports in 2024, though WTO's simple average MFN applied tariff across all products is higher at around 16.2%.
And, as far as corn is concerned, India does have a ban on genetically modified corn, but it allows US feed corn in, with a 15% tariff up to 500,000 metric tonnes, then a 50% tariff beyond, and it allows human-use corn in at a 50% tariff.
