The Lie You Built Your Life On

Listen Later

Who told you that you weren’t good enough?

Who told you that you were bad, too much, not enough, too far gone, or incapable of becoming who God created you to be?

In this episode of The Growth Lounge, I’m unpacking the quiet agreements many of us make with lies spoken over us, experiences that shaped us, and shame that was never meant to name us.

I’m sharing a deeply personal reflection from a moment in my own life when I was packing to go to rehab, feeling helpless and unsure of what came next. That moment did not come out of nowhere. Addiction did not come out of nowhere. The patterns we live in do not come out of nowhere.

There is always a thing behind the thing.

Together, we’ll explore how the way we relate to ourselves directly impacts our circumstances, relationships, healing, and legacy.

This episode is an invitation to stop letting shame, fear, old wounds, or learned behaviors define you, and to begin rebuilding your life on who God says you are.

In this episode, we talk about:

The “who told you?” question and why it matters

How old agreements become patterns, behaviors, and circumstances

The difference between dealing with symptoms and healing at the root

Why learned behaviors are not your identity

How shame leads us to hide, but God invites us into truth

What it means to rebuild your life on God’s voice instead of old wounds

Reflection question:

What agreement have you been living under because believing it once felt safe?
