They say knowledge is power. In fact, when we were children I know you remember our cartoons being interrupted by public service announcements from our favorite television stars. They’d say, “The more you know the further you go.” But what happens when the information isn’t knowledge. What happens when the information is misinformation. You see if knowledge is food for thought then misinformation would be junk food. You know, that cloned crap that can hardly even be considered food. In this day and age of social media, we have a huge problem. The problem is, anyone can disseminate information. No longer is it just newspaper, magazine and television companies trusted with the responsibility of informing the masses. Which I guess is a good thing considering the fact that they rarely have the public’s best interest in mind. However, is this responsibility any better in the hands of the masses?
