Ted Nolan is Ojibwe First Nations. He is a former NHL player who played with the Detroit Red Wings & Pittsburgh Penguins. He is also a former NHL coach of the Buffalo Sabres & New York Islanders won the Jack Adams Trophy as the NHL Coach of the Year in 1997. 

His son Brandon was a draft pick of the Vancouver Canucks who went on to play for the Carolina Hurricanes. His other son Jordan was a draft pick & 2 time Stanley Cup winner with the Los Angeles Kings who currently plays for the St.Louis Blues.

The 3NOLANS was co-founded in 2013 by Ted Nolan, Brandon Nolan, and Jordan Nolan as a way to offer a hockey skills development camp for First Nation youth in First Nation communities across Canada.

The program was developed to specifically work with First Nation youth to further develop their hockey skills and knowledge, but more importantly, teach them the importance of living healthy active lifestyles, how to be positive role models, and how to become future leaders in their communities.
