Does the Bible actually have an impact on a person's life? Surprisingly (or maybe not so surprisingly), even secular surveys shows that regular, consistent Bible reading has a drastic impact on how a person lives. And if Bible reading can have such an effect, how much more will memorizing it have! We might think that Scripture memory is a recent phenomenon, but what we see in the Bible is that it has been around since the Garden. If it's been around so long, and since it has a profound effect on our lives, should we not make more of an effort to do it?
