I'm taking a little twist on traditional gratitude as we head into the Thanksgiving holiday and focusing on gratitude for one's SELF.

I don't think many of us take the time to be grateful for and appreciate who we really are, and as such, miss out on the opportunity to feel truly free, blissful, and authentic. 

Because when we lean into the energy of authenticity, we unlock a life that is in sync with our true beliefs and values, and aint nothin' more powerful and satisfying than THAT, y'all.

I have been asking myself this question a lot lately as I continue to proceed through the process of grieving the loss of my mom. There has been so much to deal with and handle that it's been hard for me to slow down and reflect.

But as the chaos of the past few months is beginning to subside, I can't help but ponder how we determine the significance and meaning in our lives.

As I have progressed along my journey through spiritual awakening and personal development, I have found a theme that has not only come up in my studies, but also in my actual life. And that theme (or lesson) is that "people are our assignments."

The people that we connect with in our lives, especially the annoying ones, were put here strategically to show us something (or multiple things) that our soul needs to correct - things like impatience, jealousy, anger, self-righteousness, entitlement, etc. 

And recently I have had to come face-to-face with the reality of this concept through some of the people in my life - namely, my ex-husband and my daughter. 

Let's dive into some real life examples and learn why you have to pay attention to the people who drive you crazy in your life, because the universe is trying to show you something!
