October 1987. Luna drives a backroad near Mankato, Kansas, and finds a woman standing alone in a harvested cornfield at midnight. The woman is dressed in a 1950s housedress and holds a kerosene lantern that never flickers. She points toward a barn that shouldn't be there—a barn that burned down in 1954. Luna walks with her to the barn's foundation, where the woman speaks only once: 'He's still in there.' A story about waiting, about the things we refuse to leave behind, and about the light that stays lit long after the building is gone.
