We pick back up at the temple where Jesus is outing Himself in plain sight. He is the Messiah. He is saying it plain enough by pointing them to the Scriptures. Jesus is trying to get them to match what they are seeing and hearing in Him with the Scriptures. And the response thus far: some are believing. Some are questioning it. Others want to kill Him. — We pick up in John 8, where there is a parenthetical story inserted (actually begins with 7:53).
