There was a season where I almost walked away from running entirely.
Not because of injury. Not because life got too busy. But because I had quietly placed my identity in my performance — and when the races didn't go the way I planned, it felt like more than a bad time on a clock. It felt like a verdict.
In this first episode of Live Authentic, I'm getting raw about losing my edge, losing my passion, and what happens when you build your worth on something that was never meant to hold it.
This episode ends at the Pittsburgh Half Marathon, where I ran a 1:32:39 PR on a hillier course than I ever expected — but the finish line almost isn't the point. What carried me there was a single word I told myself at mile 9.5 that I think applies to a lot more than running.
Sustain. Not maintain.
If you've ever tied your worth to your results, lost the passion for something you used to love, or needed a reminder that God restores more than just outcomes — this one's for you.
