Testosterone is often reduced to a number on a lab report, but when levels are low, the effects can reach far beyond hormones. Low testosterone can be connected to changes in energy, muscle mass, metabolism, mood, sexual health, and overall well-being.
In this episode, Dr. Max Arons, DO, joins me to talk about testosterone and what can happen when levels decline. From improving metabolic health and addressing underlying factors to testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), we discuss the different ways we’ve approached and treated low testosterone throughout our years of practice.
Because men's health is about more than chasing a higher number. Testosterone is just one piece of a much bigger picture, and understanding your symptoms, health, and individual needs can help determine what approach makes sense for you.
If you're noticing changes in your energy, strength, body composition, motivation, or overall well-being, we're here to break down what those changes could mean, what you can do about them, and why taking a proactive approach in your health matters.

Menopause and perimenopause can bring changes that affect nearly every part of your health, from sleep and energy to mood, metabolism, and overall well-being. But too many women are still left wondering what's normal, what's not, and what their options are.
In this episode of "The Longevity Lounge", Dr. Renata Gazzi joins me to discuss these changes. As a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner, Dr. Gazzi brings a wealth of expertise to this conversation, and we get into the questions we hear from patients all the time.
We talk about the importance of looking beyond individual symptoms and taking a more comprehensive approach to women's health, including how HRT can play a role in helping you navigate these shifts.
Because perimenopause and menopause care is not set it and forget it. Hormones fluctuate, treatments may need tweaking, and regular conversations with your provider are essential. Midlife care should be personalized to you, your symptoms, and how your health changes over time.
If you want to better understand your hormones, explore your options, and take a more proactive approach to your health, this is an episode you won't want to miss!

Most people spend years trying to lose weight, but what comes next is even more important.
In this episode, Meredith Villareal, FNP, and I explain why building muscle is the next critical step toward longevity. Muscle isn't just about strength or appearance, it's what helps you stay independent, recover from injuries, maintain your metabolism, support your brain, and continue doing the things you love later in life.
Throughout our conversation, we share simple, science-backed strategies that we use with our patients to build muscle safely and effectively, covering everything from strength training and protein to sleep and hormones.
Everyone is different, so personalizing the plan is key.
If your goal is to not just live longer, but live to your fullest potential, this is an episode you won't want to miss!

If you've ever felt like you've tried every diet, counted every calorie, and still couldn't figure out why your health wasn't improving, this episode is for you.
This week, Meredith Villareal, FNP and I break down how we approach the first phase of longevity medicine: improving metabolic health.
We talk about why the number on the scale isn't the best measure of progress, the hidden role insulin resistance plays in weight gain, and why understanding your body's data can completely change the way you think about nutrition.
We also discuss simple, science-backed strategies that help patients improve metabolic health, stabilize blood sugar, reduce insulin resistance, and build healthier habits without relying on restrictive diets or endless calorie counting. Our goal isn't just to help people lose weight, it's to help them lose body fat, preserve muscle, and build a healthier foundation that lasts.

If you've ever wondered what longevity medicine actually is, or why it's becoming such an important part of the future of healthcare, this episode is a great place to start.
This week, I'm joined by Meredith Villareal, a nurse practitioner who has worked in both traditional healthcare and longevity medicine, giving her a unique perspective on where today's traditional healthcare system falls short. We dive into the difference between reactive and proactive medicine, why so many appointments feel rushed, and what it really means to optimize your health instead of simply managing disease
If you enjoy the conversation, leave a review! As a thank you, I'll send you Dr. Khare's Curiosity Collection, a curated library of my favorite resources on business, health research, leadership, and lifelong learning.

Welcome to the first episode of The Longevity Lounge podcast!
This is something I've wanted to do for a while, not only to share my story, but also to give people insight into how our plans for life don't always unfold the way we expect, and certainly not on the timelines we envision.
For our first episode, my daughter, Maya Khare, sits down with me to talk through that journey. We cover everything from medical school and working in the ER to clinical research, navigating the COVID-19 pandemic, and eventually making the healthcare organizations I lead what they are today.
It's a conversation about taking risks, adapting when life changes course, and staying committed to a bigger vision, even when the timeline doesn't look anything like you imagined.
I'd love for you to listen, and if something resonates with you, be sure to like, follow, and share the podcast.
