Have Fun and Play

The Loot Vampire

Listen Later

In this episode, the Have Fun and Play podcasters discuss the exciting Borderlands 3 announcements and gameplay footage, as well as the an interesting brush with 5th edition D&D. Myron, Anna and JT are all looking forward to Borderlands 3. The new game mechanics, like slide and mantle capabilities, look like they will add some variety to the game. And the individualized loot drops will certainly be a welcome addition. Tom learns that when playing with Myron, no loot is safe. Tom doesn’t sound convinced that the third-person looter-shooter is up his alley, time will tell if he gives the original remastered game a try on Xbox.

In other news, Myron and Anna recently played a one-shot game of 5th edition D&D, and it was actually pretty awesome. Before the game each player participated in a game of Roleplayer to build their D&D characters. Both Anna and Myron agree that the simplified mechanics of 5th edition made for a faster playing game, while allowing for more opportunities for theater of the mind role-playing. JT and Tom both seem intrigued by the changes to the core system, but Anna will only agree to a version change if she can continue Caisis’ quest for her epic destiny. Tom suggests a one-shot 5E for the upcoming trip to Gencon. Stay tuned this summer to find out how the Gencon adventure turns out.
