The Lord as Our Shepherd / Elder Sherry L. PattersonThe term Shepherd was a royal metaphor in the ancient Near East; So to call God our shepherd is to acknowledge Him as the one and only ruler over our lives, and because of that WE surrender to His will.
“The Lord is my shepherd,” “I shall not want” One commentator stated that this verse has in it’s original language infers; this to be an emphatic statement. Because the Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.
