If there is any word in the English language that is overused or abused it would be the word "love"! Each individual has their own slant or expectations concerning love and how it should bring them satisfaction or happiness. But our worldly perception of love is so self-centered and manipulative that we live in a constant state of disappointment and conflict.
God is love! But many, even in the church struggle with knowing God as love and His love for them because of their personal experience and understanding of what love is. Their disappointment hurt, and bitterness has distorted their view of God and His expression of love toward them. As they see all the suffering in the world and the evil that prevails in every corner of their world, it is hard for them to believe there is a God who still loves them.
But knowing God's love requires a relationship that has been reconciled by the cross of Jesus Christ and His death and resurrection. It requires our acceptance of the blood that was shed for our sins on Calvary. It's to know His greatest love expression of sending His only begotten Son into the world to be the propitiation for our sins.
His Holy Spirit manifests His love and grace to us every day that we might be rooted and grounded in His love and be filled up to the fulness of God. The fulness of His love! Do you know His love for you? Do you know the love that endures all things? Do you know the love that never fails? Do you know the love connection?
