8 years ago, Tina went for a check-up after noticing an unusual rash on her palm. The doctor ran several tests on her and found out that she was HIV positive. At the time, she was 23 and in her first intimate relationship. She kept her diagnosis a secret from everyone except her brother out of fear of being stigmatized.
