Lord Alex Edgerton has a problem. His brother, tired of Alex's carousing, has charged him with chaperoning their remaining, unwed sister about at ton events. Shopping? No, thank you. Attending the theater? He'd rather be at Forbidden Pleasures with a scantily clad beauty upon his lap. The task of chaperone becomes even more of a bother when his sister drags along her dearest friend, Lady Imogen, to social functions. The last thing he wants in his life is a young, innocent English miss.
Except as Alex and Imogen are thrown together, passions flare, and Alex comes to find he not only wants Imogen in his bed, but also in his heart. Yet now he must convince Imogen to risk all, on the heart of a rogue.
Members Reviews:
Not the best in the series
A decent little story with interesting characters, even the secondary ones. Not my favorite of the series but a good addition to it.
Tim Campbell's narration is a mixed bag. His male voices are sexy and great but his women seem too girlish. Something to work on.
Sweet!
I wasn't sure I would like the hero in this story at first. His character wasn't very nice. But as his attitude was explained through the progress of the story I began to understand there was a lot more to his character.
The story was well written and narrated. An easy to follow storyline that had a lot of passion and romance and was still quite clean considering the Hero's history. Very enjoyable!
Horrible story, horrible narration
What would have made The Love of a Rogue better?
I reviewed book 2 in the series and indicated shorter would be better, but this book is shorter, but no better! It was too confusing as to how the two characters came together. The hero is the brother of the heroine's best friend . They have known each other for years, but suddenly they fall in love with each other just over a look in the family library...how! They did not know anything about each other after years of contact.
Has The Love of a Rogue turned you off from other books in this genre?
No, just those by this author and narrator
What didnt you like about Tim Campbells performance?
He has been a good narrator in previous books and would be fantastic reading non-fiction as he is clear and authoratative. He kept speaking as if he was doing a bad William Shatner impression, lots of stuttering and hesitating. All I could think of was " Scottie..beam me up!"
The voice for the " villan" Rutland was a little too sinister and sounded more like someone plotting world domination, not just taunting the hero.
You didnt love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
Nothing that I can think of, except it was short, so the misery was over very quickly.
Any additional comments?
This series started out well and just lost it's way. Nothing was original and with other authors the themes have been handled much better.
I think I have given up on this author.
