We're so excited about this episode because I reunite with one of my soulmates and friends, Martie Miracle. Martie is a Navy veteran who I met in high school through 4-H in rural West Virginia. Her recollections about her Dad, Bob, include memories of being an Air Force brat, her mom’s longing to return to the WV hills and how they made life work when her father lived and worked away from home. Martie and her brother Bobby were adopted while her Dad was stationed in Japan, and they grew up in a home that cherished their children by choice. Tune in for the heartwarming and humorous story!
All anecdotes in the episode are told with great affection for our home state, and it's worth saying that the combined population of both of our rural communities is 182 people! Very rural Almost Heaven towns with wonderful, caring people.
