Leader: The Lord is compassionate and gracious, People: slow to anger, abounding in love.
Leader: He will not always accuse, People: nor will he harbor his anger forever;
Leader: he does not treat us as our sins deserve People: or repay us according to our iniquities.
Leader: For as high as the heavens are above the earth, People: so great is his love for those who fear him;
Leader: as far as the east is from the west, People: so far has he removed our transgressions from us.
Leader: As a father has compassion on his children, People: so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him;
Leader: for he knows how we are formed, People: he remembers that we are dust.17a Leader: But from everlasting to everlasting the Lord’s love is with those who fear him, 22b All: Bless the Lord, O my soul.
Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?”
Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.”
