Dan McCarney started coaching in 1977. After 10 years with Hayden Fry at the University of Iowa, he left for Wisconsin where he coached with Barry Alvarez for five years. He then was the head coach at Iowa State for 12 years. He then went on to win a National Championship while working under Urban Meyer at the University of Florida. He’s the purest form of a coach. Now retired, he still loves to help and see young people grow and learn as they mature into adulthood. Just ask any of his players, he’s never stopped caring about them - randomly calling to check in and see how they are doing. Dan is enjoying life after a heck of a coaching career in Sarasota, FL.
