In "The Lunatics", Mother Laura is a fiercely protective woman who has raised a diverse group of orphans— or 'lunatics,' as the neighbors call them— after growing up without a family. When her sister Bee overdoses and her daughter Bethany is abandoned, Laura takes the child in and embarks on a violent mission to confront those who have wronged her family, including drug dealer Rezna and her abusive ex. As Laura grapples with the grief of losing another sister and caring for her young nieces, she becomes determined to protect them at all costs, even if it means crossing moral boundaries to seek revenge.
