Not sure why I'm being called to this. It stems from a conversation shared with a church pastor several years ago. He said, "If Christ were to come back right now, he'd be injured by how we gather and celebrate his worst day." Meaning the crucifixion. I sit in this forest today. 45 degrees. The leaves turning bright yellow, burnt reds and oranges. When we fall witness to the beauty of fall, we are in celebration of death. Little things like this get into my heart. There are so many stories wrapped around us at all times. Stopping to think about what we celebrate is a deeper look into a greater more powerful message.
