The Magnificent Glass Pelican produces and improvises audio theater, comedy, original music, and intriguing talk, mostly about things that aren't real. The ensemble's primary concerns are messed-up language and weird cognition. MGP is neither "old-timey" radio nor the millennial casting of pods. As far as reference points, the work has drawn occasional and misguided comparison to Firesign Theater, Negativland, Spalding Gray, Monty Python, and others. At times, the ensemble has been as large as 11, at times as small as two. The MGP has been broadcasting on the Edge for nearly 30 year, leading some to wonder why.
