The Man In The Middle II

Today’s Scripture: ‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬‬

‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭‭Daniel 3:21-25 NIV‬

[21] So these men, wearing their robes, trousers, turbans and other clothes, were bound and thrown into the blazing furnace. [22] The king’s command was so urgent and the furnace so hot that the flames of the fire killed the soldiers who took up Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego, [23] and these three men, firmly tied, fell into the blazing furnace. [24] Then King Nebuchadnezzar leaped to his feet in amazement and asked his advisers, “Weren’t there three men that we tied up and threw into the fire?” They replied, “Certainly, Your Majesty.” [25] He said, “Look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods.”

God has always been in the middle of it all. All of your life, God's been there; he's been in the middle of everything you have experienced and what you are facing now. There's never been a time when he wasn't in the middle of it all. There's a song that says, Jesus at the center of it all, it's Jesus at the center of it all, from beginning to the end, it's always been you, Jesus. Yes, that's it, we can replace center with middle; it's Jesus in the middle of it all.

The problem is that when it looks bad, we don't think that it's Jesus in the middle of it all. We still have a fairytale belief system, thinking that everything must go well for us for God to be behind it, at the center of it, or in the middle of it all. But he is. You don't have to be doing something wrong to deal with hardships and haters in life. You can live right, and things go wrong in your life. Nevertheless, no matter what goes wrong, we have a God who makes things right. He's the man in the middle.

The three Hebrew boys survived because they trusted the man in the middle. He showed up in the midst of the fire furnace, at the center of it all. They could not die because the man in the middle was a consuming fire. And because they were in him and he in them, they could not be consumed; fires cannot consume fire.

But it only makes it stronger. What should have killed them made them stronger. Jesus showed up in the first as the man in the middle, and he fortified and secured them. They were walking around in the fire, and they were not burnt.

Here, me, you are not alone. The cross represents your victory. Jesus is the man in the middle. He is your help, your strength, your safety, your sacrifice, your redeemer, and your God. Stand in confidence in whatever you hate facing and know that the man in the middle can never be defeated; therefore, you can never be defeated.

It may look like you're surrounded, but you're surrounded by God. He's in the Middle of that situation, and your victory is guaranteed. Just like it was wonderful on the cross, in the fire furnace, it will be won in your life. He's the man in the middle.
