Abraham, known as a common patriarch, was the first man chosen by God for a role, in the plan of redemption.  It was Abraham whom God chose to be the father of many nations.  Listen to this story about Abraham, Lot, and Sodom and Gomorrah and how Lot's wife became a pillar of salt for disobeying angels.  Lesson could possibly be that those who keep looking back and dwelling on the mistakes and sins of the past are likely to find themselves paralyzed and immobilized so far as moving on into the future is concerned.  Man must beware how he uses the gift of free will that has been given to him.  Those who love God and revere Him, will be saved.  Those who reject and disobey him, like the people of Sodom and Gomorrah, will suffer the consequences.
