This week on The Blitz we've got an over-the-phone chat with Manning's head wrestling coach Spencer Thomas. 

Participation in the sport has been a rollercoaster. Over the past two years they've gone from 13 members to 2, then back up and back down to 6 as they head into next week's region meet. 

In addition to battling low numbers, the Monarchs fought illness early this season, stripping them of practice time before heading to a tough first opponent in Airport High School. 

Head coach Thomas said these were all crucial lessons that've given the kids a great outlook and mentality as they navigate the rest of the season.
