He is a contributing editor at Bird Watcher's Digest and for thirteen years has written a column, “The Wild Side," for The Adirondack Explorer. He also teaches writing workshops for adults, seniors, and children. Ed, his wife, Debbie, and their children Ned and Tasman live on 18 acres along the Saranac River in New York's 6 million acre Adirondack Park.
