In this special episode of the JAB Podcast we sit down with the 57th District Champs the Martin County Lady Cardinals.  Hall of Fame Player and Head Coach Robin Newsome, Assistant Coach Jason Wefenstette, and Players Maddie Thompson, Kristen Issac, Lakyn Porter, Lyndsey Cassell,, Gracie Synder and Allysa Allen join the show. 

This group has persevered through losing their head coach to a fatal car accident and the death of a staple in the sports community in Martin County, Assistant Coach Pam Maynard. Coach Newsome came out of retirement to lead this group to a record of 21-9 in the regular season and a 57th District Championship. They begin action in the 15 Region Tournament tomorrow at 6:30 at the Expo Center in Pikeville. 

I know I speak for Brad and JD and the rest of Martin County when I say we are so proud of this group of young women and wish them the best in their quest for the Region title.  As I told them, there perseverance is what being from Martin County is all about.  THAT IS SO MARTIN COUNTY!
